ZAMBIA
The Republic of ZAMBIA is a landlocked country of some 12,000,000 people bordered by DR Congo on the north, Tanzania to the north-east, Malawi to the east, Angola to the west and Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia to the south. Although it has over seventy languages Zambia is one of sub-Saharan Africa’s most urbanised countries with 50% of the population living in a few urban zones strung along the major transport corridors.
HIV/AIDS affects 17% of the adult population.
