RWANDA

The Republic of Rwanda supports the densest population in continental Africa with a population of 9,000,000 in an area of under 27,000km2. Bordered by Uganda, Burundi, DR Congo and Tanzania, Rwanda mainly comprises rolling hills and mountains and is sometimes referred to as ‘land of a thousand hills’.

Rwanda is still associated with the genocide of 1994 when it lost 1,000,000 in 100 days but the years since have seen remarkable economic and social progress and the development of a thriving tourist industry.
